In season two, episode 5.5 of the EZ Montreal Art Podcast, Eloi Desjardins and Chris ‘Zeke’ Hand discuss the recent events at The Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal. Specifically, the resignation of their director and head curator.

Some corrections to the podcast: Alexandre Taillefer sold one company to Quebecor and a second to Electronic Arts. Not three to Quebecor. Paulette Gagnon resigns on June 1, not January 1.

Some of the articles discussed during the podcast are
MAC Montreal Rocked By Staff Departures & Plans to Cut More

And instead of a trivia question, we are asking everyone to send in their suggestions of whom should run the museum. The best suggestions will win an opportunity to drink Burgundy wine with Eloi and Zeke. Email us at ezmontrealart@gmail.com

I don’t know where you got your figures from, but according to the SAQ
website there are currently 954 wines under $15 available.
http://www.saq.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchDisplay?searchType=&orderBy=&categoryIdentifier=06&showOnly=product&langId=&beginIndex=0&tri=&metaData=YWRpX2YxOjA8TVRAU1A%2BcHJpY2VfQ0FEOih7KiAxNC45OX0gMTQuOTkp&pageSize=20&pageView=&catalogId=50000&searchTerm=*&sensTri=&facet=price_CAD%253A%2528%257B*%2B14.99%257D%2B14.99%2529&storeId=20002

I also count 112 wines that are less than $10.

All of which would lead me to question your 2009 figures as well.

Again, according to their online database, they are out of stock on 68
and there are currently 886 available in outlets, and of the 280 that
are available on line, 100% are available in outlets.

Your facts are wrong.

Howdy!

In your article you write: “Les données compilées par M. Gagnon…”
Does he work for the SAQ? and if he does, why do you write “le
Gagnon.” Instead of something like SAQ VP of Database Marc André
Gagnon?

Click on the link to the SAQ’s website that I sent you. The numbers do
not correspond.

I’m not quite certain what to make of it, although now, there are 945 wines available at the SAQ that are under $15. Of those 774 are in 750ml containers.

Pierre Dorion Talking About his Exhibit at the Musée d’Art Contemporain de Montréal

Howdy!

Last November I had the chance to interview Pierre Dorion about the exhibit he had at the Musée d’Art Contemporain de Montréal and about his practice. I was finally able to finish editing it over the holidays. If you have a spare 37 minutes to watch, I think hope you might like it.

or if you prefer YouTube to Archive.org

Either way I’d suggest watching it on a fullscreen as the native resolution is 1280 x 720, and it was filmed in HD.

The EZ Montreal Art Podcast, episode 9: Pierre Dorion, Janet Biggs & Aude Moreau

Howdy!

Last week, Eloi Desjardins from Un Show de Mot’Arts and I got together to talk about the Pierre Dorion, Janet Biggs and Aude Moreau exhibits at the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal.

The only thing I could really find online were these two excerpts from videos by Ms. Biggs. M. Dorion does not appear to do the internet and Mlle. Moreau hasn’t updated her website in a couple of years.

Cirque Éloize’s iD

Howdy!

Last week I went to see a performance of the Cirque Éloize‘s iD. If you would like to hear what I thought about it, listen here:

First off, props need to be given to all the performers: Ignacio Adar, Lisa Eckert, Nicolas Fortin, Jesse Huygh, Xuan Le, Nadia Lumley, Justine Méthé-Crozat, Baptiste Montassier, Samuel ‘Sam Sung’ Nadai, Thibaut Philippe, Jeremy Saint-Jean, Ryan Shinji Murray, Emi Vauthey, Kone Thong Vongpraseuth. I also have to thank Two Zombies Later for all the background music. Then during the podcast I mention 21 Jump Street

along with Video Mapping. I also point out how I had seen better Double Dutching

And better trials cycling (aka riding a trick bike)

But despite all that,m it actually is quite a good show. It’s playing at Tohu until October 6.
