Howdy!
I’ve been hanging around Ontario street down in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve recently (it must be something in the water…) and I came across this street art. Great idea and concept, some of them could have been executed slightly better. If you want to click on the link that adds no more information try this or peristylenomade.org.

Something about the bright orange stripes caught my eye.

Although given the background, it’s easy to see how it might get lost.

Then I noticed another one.

And another one…

Then I read it (in English I pass by here everyday)

And another (in English, That’s very well done graffiti)

So I went back to the first one.So I went back to the first one. (That’s the neighborhood in a snapshot)

And peered through the frame. And what do you know?!?
Between the apartment building, the McDonald’s, the Metro and the concrete, it pretty much is.

Just in case you missed it the first time around.

It seems like I’m in another world, not Montreal.

It’s an intersection where people cross paths.

Over there I see my house.

The towers are so tall you see them from everywhere in the neighborhood.

Brick is everywhere.

I need greenery (ie plants and trees)

I love church roofs.

It looks like Montreal’s medieval fortress.

Everything is beautiful. We just don’t realize it because we are so used to it.

That’s very nicely done graffiti.

I’d seen those around, but hadn’t really looked through many. Thought they were a little too conceptual for this area. Still, Peristyle’s always doing interesting stuff, and it’s nice to have a piece about it.
