Howdy!
Slow news day, but I’m hungry…

I know of a couple of other fruit trees in town, and the Jardin botanique de Montréal also has some fruits and vegetables at this time of year. But the people who would be most up to date about where you can eat off the sidewalks would be the fine folk at the Collectif de recherche sur l’aménagement paysager et l’agriculture urbaine durable (who are also responsible for the garden at the Université du Québec à Montréal.
Seriously, you can go pick food at UQÀM and nobody minds?
In theory you’re not supposed to forage at the Botanical Garden.
Howdy!
I imagine that CRAPAUD would mind, but like the Botanical Garden, I doubt that there’s anything anyone can really do if you did get hungry…
Wild grapes make great jelly. So do crabapples. Both widely available.
Grapes growing over other shrubs’n’ stuff and/or fences by railroad tracks. Crabapples on better front lawns everywhere.
Can’t imagine folks getting ticked off if you take things they won’t have to rake up with the leaves.
Came to a sharecropper agreement with a local seniors facility. I get their tame grapes and they get half the jelly.
Those green peppers look suspiciously like tomatoes, especially the leaves.
